Our return home -

As a family, we all traveled very well during the "red-eye" flight. We were sad to leave Honolulu ...

... and even more distressed to return home to this picturesque scene! This should only be seen in magazines.

The Keiki Zoo - Hawai'i

Here, Kiave and Azahn prepare for the sun by hydrating themselves. Then, we venture for our morning walk toward the Zoo! I will add - the layout for the Zoo was VERY WELL organized. Again, lots of fun and sun!

Waikiki Aquarium

While at the aquarium, there was so much to see! A good time was had by all - even the mile walk to/from the condo.

Fortunately, we purchased a stroller (since Azahn was limp during the first few days) for convenience ... Azahn had enough energy to push the contents of the stroller right along - with a smile (again!).

Meanwhile, these few photos are taken in "downtown" Honolulu, just a few blocks from the condo.

Nap time - what a wonderful event in a child's life ... must be nice!

Interacting with the dolphins!

Yes, that would mean Kiave - in the water - within close proximity of a dolphin. He wore his protective gear ... ready to go! After a restroom break, he was willing to return to the water (with a friend named Eric), but didn't want to 'hang out' in the dolphin tank too long. Fortunately, children younger than 5 years old are F-R-E-E!

Azahn - on the other hand - provided nothing but touch, kisses, and hugs to his new friend: "el delfin" (aka, "the dolphin")!

It was definitely an experience that I hope to always remember. After our change of clothes, we explored the rest of the "Sea Park." Sava, the picture of the turtle is specificially for you!

Dole Plantation - Honolulu, HI

Eating pineapples was ALOT of fun - especially pineapple ice cream (without dairy). The train ride was the highlight of this visit.

Spring Break vacation in Honolulu (Part 2)

Although Azahn was not feeling well during the first few days of our vacation, he managed to smile for the camera. These photos were taken at a local museum - of which we obtained a discount because we were members of OMSI.

We couldn't leave without taking a picture of the local fire truck ... one of the trucks we saw (not included here) even had a surf board located on its side.

Enjoying a beautiful sunset together.

Spring Break vacation in Honolulu

This was a captivating moment - after six hours/travel on the airplane and a three-hour time difference adjustment. Going to bed had never been so easy on the first night!
However, shortly after sunrise the next morning, we all woke up to the birds singing, and then ... the sounds of the fire truck, ambulance, and garbage truck. Fortunately, the beach was a short distance away, and Azahn enjoyed "surfing" with the others. Kiave, on the other hand, remained where his feet could touch the ground.

Portland Children's Festival

Somehow, the boys know just what to do - how did they manage to gravite toward the BIG machines? At least they have a few YEARS before they can touch the pedal and handles at the same time. That's okay, they had a great time throughout the festival.
